About us

Our company was established by Owner and Superintendent Pharmacist, Kantilal Agravat, known as ‘Ken the Chemist’ locally.

Our vision:

‘To build on our successful pharmacy business to create a vibrant health hub which offers a range of services for the local community.’

Our mission statement:

‘To act as a pillar of the local community focussed on improving the health and well-being of our patients and staff by providing a reliable, friendly and holistic approach.’

Our values:

  • Patient-centered
  • Going the extra mile
  • Open and honest
  • Compassion
  • Positivity
  • Inclusive and respectful of everyone.

Pharmaco family behaviours:

  1. We communicate clearly and with kindness
  2. We are committed and passionate
  3. We are empathetic to others
  4. We trust each other
  5. We understand that everyone matters and we each have a voice
  6. We support and learn from each other.

Our commitment and passion for our local community sees us going above and beyond the typical role of a pharmacy through activities such as offering work placements to local young people throughout the year, and working with local charities as part of our outreach service.

We are proud to be working in partnership with Connect Health at our main branch to offer pain management services to the local community.

Awards

Our approach particularly to outreach work has seen us win several awards including:

  1. Runner up in the Pharmacy Innovation of the Year category at the Independent Pharmacy Awards 2018
  2. Finalist in the Chemist and Druggist awards 2018 in the ‘Health Initiative of the Year’ category for our homeless-friendly outreach scheme
  3. Winner of the ‘Innovation in Pharmacy Services’ category in GMCA’s Greater Manchester Pharmacy Local Professional Network 2018
  4. Kantilal Agravat was the regional winner of the 2016 ‘I Love My Pharmacist’ award recognized by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Our outreach work involves our pharmacists and staff visiting local charitable organisations, schools and places of worship to deliver free health and wellbeing advice and services.
